Let the package be your first guide

Tea changes with leaf quantity, water temperature and infusion time. Start with the directions on the package, then adjust gradually toward the flavor you prefer.

Change only one thing at a time

If it feels too strong, use slightly fewer leaves; to change the aroma, adjust the temperature. Keeping other conditions constant makes differences easier to notice. A short note can help.

Choose a vessel and a moment

Use a familiar yunomi in the morning, or a small cup during a work break. The rim of the vessel and the place where you drink can make a familiar tea feel different.

Pour thoughtfully to the last drop

When serving several cups, alternate small pours so the strength stays even. Try to empty the pot so the leaves do not remain submerged.

The best method varies by tea and product. Begin with the directions for the tea you purchased.
